Alabama

Alabama is a southeastern state that joined the union in 1819. The Yellowhammer State is home to five (5) million people who live, school, and run businesses that contribute to Alabama’s diversified economy. Most of these residents have an Alabama phone number, recognizable by one of six area codes, featured on the Alabama phone numbers database.

Alabama area codes replaced the switchboard as a better way to connect callers across the state. Each area code represents the county or city where the phone number owner resides per the North American Numbering Plan (NANP).

When a resident of Alabama registers a phone number, the mobile carrier typically stores the individual’s personal information and contact address linked to that phone number. The Alabama phone numbers database contains this information, and interested persons may perform a public phone number search for unknown callers’ details.

The phone number search is reliable because of the uniqueness of every phone number in Alabama. Three features make a phone number unique — the area code, the prefix code, and the line number.

Consider the typical Mobile phone number, 251-AYY-XXXX. Suppose this phone number is a house address where a mailman must deliver an urgent letter. Surely, the mailman must know how to locate the recipient by looking at the house address on the letter and referring to a map.

The first three digits of the phone number, the area code, represent a defined county, city, or town in Alabama. So, the mailman knows the letter is going to the Mobile area, for example. The next three digits, AYY, the prefix code, tell the mailman the street name. Finally, XXXX, the line number, tells the mailman the recipient’s house number.

Armed with this information, the mailman ensures the letter gets to the intended recipient and not the neighbor. Thousands of persons may have the same area code, and many people may share the same prefix code. However, the line number is unique to only one person. Thus, a reverse phone search on the Alabama phone numbers database is a very reliable way to identify a phone number owner. By looking at the area code, you will also know if the call came from a landline or mobile phone. A reverse phone search takes it further and lets you see the caller’s personal information and public records.

Alabama originally started with one area code in 1947. But as more people came to live in the state and the demand for phone numbers grew, the state expanded the number of area codes to six (6) using overlay and geographic split. These methods let residents retain old area codes while creating new area codes for new phone owners. The Alabama phone numbers database is up-to-date with this information.
